Cultivating Community, Regeneration, and Intergenerational Learning

The Sagamore Foundation is the nonprofit heart of Sagamore Pond — a place where land, learning, and community come together to create a more resilient future. Rooted in regenerative agriculture and nature‑based education, our mission is to strengthen wellbeing for children, families, and communities through hands‑on experiences that reconnect people with the land and with one another.

We believe that when people slow down, learn together, and share responsibility, they rediscover a sense of belonging that is often missing in modern life. Our programs invite families, worldschoolers, and community members to participate in meaningful work, creative exploration, and intergenerational connection.

Our Mission

To cultivate community wellbeing through regenerative agriculture, nature‑based education, and intergenerational learning — creating spaces where people of all ages can grow, contribute, and thrive.

What We Do

Nature‑Based Education

Children learn through hands‑on exploration, outdoor play, and real farm work. Our programs nurture curiosity, confidence, and a deep connection to the natural world.

Regenerative Agriculture

We steward the land through practices that restore soil health, protect ecosystems, and model sustainable food production. Our farm serves as a living classroom for families and learners of all ages.

Intergenerational Community

We bring children, adults, and elders together in meaningful ways — sharing skills, stories, and daily rhythms that strengthen community bonds.

Seasonal Farm School

Our immersive Seasonal Nature‑Based Farm School welcomes worldschool families for monthly or full‑season stays in the fall and spring. Children participate in animal care, gardening, cooking, and outdoor learning while families experience a slower, healthier pace of life on the farm.

Community Expansion & Affordable Agricultural Living

In partnership with regional organizations, we are developing sustainable, affordable housing and agricultural living opportunities that support long‑term community resilience.

We offer two immersive learning seasons each year:

Fall World School

September 1 – November 30
The fall season invites families into the rhythms of harvest, stewardship, and preparation. Children ages 3–13 engage in hands‑on learning rooted in ecology, animal care, seasonal crafts, and land‑based science. Families participate in daily farm rhythms, community meals, and shared projects that build confidence, independence, and connection.

Spring World School

March 1 – May 31
Spring brings renewal, planting, and exploration. Children ages 3–13 learn through gardening, pond ecology, weather observation, engineering challenges, and creative arts inspired by the land. Families join in regenerative farm work, nature walks, and intergenerational learning experiences that celebrate growth and curiosity.

A Living‑Learning Community

Families staying at Sagamore Pond become part of a working regenerative farm and intergenerational village.

Each season includes:

Daily nature‑based learning blocks for children
Independent exploration time that fosters creativity and resilience
Family participation in real farm work—animal care, gardening, stewardship
Community rituals that anchor the week and season
Optional afternoon workshops in crafts, cooking, building, and land skills
Shared meals, celebrations, and seasonal traditions

Our world school model is designed to be predictable enough for children, flexible enough for weather, and deeply connected to the land.

Our Commitment

World School at Sagamore Pond is not a drop‑off program. It is a family‑centered, land‑rooted learning environment where adults and children learn side by side. We honor independence, responsibility, and the dignity of meaningful work.

Why Our Work Matters

Families today are seeking connection — to nature, to community, and to a healthier way of living. The Sagamore Foundation offers a grounded alternative to fast‑paced, disconnected modern life. Through shared work, shared meals, and shared learning, we create a place where people feel seen, supported, and part of something meaningful.
